It’s difficult to experience the kind of intimacy and relationship we see described in the New Testament with hundreds and thousands of people. Joining a community group is a great practical way to pursue this. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of he who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” – 1 Peter 2:9 (ESV) Through Christ, he has and is creating a new community of people to worship and serve him together. God’s plan has always been to redeem a people for himself. A place where we learn to do gospel community.
They are led by lay leaders who are appointed, trained, and supported by Hope’s elders and leadership.Ī Hope community group is not what you might think of as a traditional “Bible study.” While those are great, our community groups are focused on applying the great truths of the Bible to our everyday lives with one another. Every 2 weeks on Sundays 5:30 PM James & Johns Island. Our community groups are small groups of around 12-16 people who meet together regularly in each other’s homes. Community Groups provide spaces to love one another and live out the gospel of Jesus together. We like to say we’re not simply a church with community groups but a church of community groups.
